However, on rare occasions there might be some compound additive ingredients within the production of the original raw material, these are clearly indicated on the product label.

Ancient teachings advocated a weekly day of fasting to keep them “Enlightened” (a term we believe refereed to our ability to truly hold and produce light). We now understand from a biochemical point of view that this aids the flow of oxygen to the tissues of our body.

In a world where researchers continue to develop approaches to biochemically manipulate our ability to hold and convert light into adenosine triphosphate (ATP) for example the role of Vitamin D, a pro-horme that in the true meaning of the term isn’t actually a vitamin. There’s little doubt that this substance, to differing degrees, offers an eye watering array of potential health benefits, ranging from its important role in supporting the well-being of people suffering with SAD syndrome, to its role in supporting healthy bones, teeth also the healthy function of our immune, brain, lung, cardiovascular and nervous systems, whilst also being noted to play a role in regulating insulin levels in diabetes’s management and influencing gene patterns in cancer development.

So what’s the alternative? The forefathers of the naturopathic movement understood the influence intermittent fasting could have on our ability the maintain our health and well-being, a term we refer to as being “truly enlightened”.

So, for those of us who prefer to evaluate information from a scientific viewpoint rather than just relying on clinical outcomes, lets take a look at what science knows about the benefits of consuming less. For example approaches like turning to a vegan diet has been demonstrated to turn on more than 500 disease preventing genes, while turning off genes that are connected to the cause of breast cancer, heart disease, prostate cancer and many other illnesses. And with approaches like intermittent fasting suggesting we can change the very function of hormones, cells and even gene expression relating to insulin levels, human hormone growth, cellular repair and our longevity and protection against disease. The benefits of fasting, juicing or smoothies can be observed within days and the results are long lasting, suggesting they are influencing the root cause of disease rather than simply disguise the symptoms. If a pill could achieve all this what a market leader it would be!!
