What do we mean by “UK Compliant”?

Where we describe a product as “UK Compliant”, we mean that, to the best of our knowledge and based on the compliance checks undertaken, the product has been reviewed against the UK regulatory requirements relevant to its classification and intended sale.

Where appropriate, product formulations, labels and associated information may be reviewed with the assistance of experienced independent compliance specialists, including ClearCheck, the Health Food Manufacturers’ Association (HFMA), or other suitably qualified regulatory advisers.

Not every product sold by Conella falls within the same regulatory category. Where a product is not classified as a food supplement, we assess it against the requirements applicable to that particular product category and seek specialist guidance where appropriate.

For food supplements, our compliance process may include reviewing:

• permitted forms and sources of vitamins and minerals;
• ingredient status and suitability;
• mandatory labelling information and warnings;
• nutrition and health claims;
• directions for use and recommended daily intake; and
• other relevant UK food law and regulatory requirements.

The use of the term “UK Compliant” does not mean that a product has been approved, licensed or certified by the UK Government, the Food Standards Agency or another enforcement authority. It describes our compliance status based on the information available and the regulatory review undertaken at the time.
